Giving Opportunities
Your philanthropic support greatly impacts the School of Dentistry’s ability to accomplish our mission to advance oral health and improve lives. Without the generosity of our community, we would not be able to serve thousands of patients and educate hundreds of students each year. Your gift will help us train our students to become exceptional practitioners, support our researchers in their quest for new knowledge, and furnish our clinics with the most advanced equipment and technology to provide the finest patient care.
You may designate your gift to what you feel is your strongest affinity. Donations to our unrestricted “Dean's Innovation Fund” enable us to direct resources where they are most immediately needed. You may also designate your gift to a specific department, scholarship fund or to support patient care.
At the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, committed faculty and staff work together in the shared mission of excellence in dental education and research. Within the walls of our state-of-the-art building, facets of innovative research, community service and international externships continue to set us apart from other dental schools across the nation.
A planned gift is a way to ensure this vision for the future. Consider making a gift to the school of dentistry as a part of your legacy. There are many giving options from which to choose:

FAQs
How do I become a UMSOD Loyal donor?
Make a gift or pledge payment of any amount for at least two consecutive fiscal years (July 1 – June 30) and you will automatically become a UMSOD Loyal donor. Give every fiscal year to maintain your status and let us celebrate you – our most loyal donors!
Why does consistent annual support matter?
UMSOD Loyal donors provide critical ongoing support that helps further the School’s mission of advancing oral health and improving lives. By giving annually, you are enabling our students, faculty, and researchers to continue making a difference in the lives of patients, both in the Baltimore community and beyond.
What recognition will I receive?
Once you achieve UMSOD Loyal status, you are recognized for the total number of years in which you have made gifts or pledge payments to UMSOD. Because giving annually is important and deeply appreciated, UMSOD Loyal donors will receive this special pin, pictured above, to highlight their dedication.
What happens if I miss a year?
If you miss a fiscal year, you will experience a lapse in UMSOD Loyal status. UMSOD Loyal status can be reinstated with two consecutive years of support. At that time, you will receive notification of your renewed UMSOD Loyal status and be recognized for the total number of years in which you have made gifts to the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
