The Honors Convocation is the recognition of degree completion.

During the ceremony, degree candidates walk across the stage and receive their doctoral hoods (DDS) or pins (BSDH). The graduating DDS class selects two members of the faculty to hood the graduates. Students may also pre-select individual doctoral hooders/pinners (one or two). Specific requirements for doctoral hooders/pinners will be described to the graduates. Photographs of the graduates are taken with the Dean.  

Tickets are required to attend Honors Convocation.

Accessible seating is limited at the venue. Guests need to contact Helen Dagilis at hdagilis@umaryland.edu or 410-706-0258 as soon as possible to inquire about accessible seating.

2024 Honors Convocation Ceremony

Friday, May 17, 2024 and will begin promptly at 8am

The ceremony will take place at the Hippodrome Theatre, 12 N. Eutaw Street, Baltimore, MD  21201

Every graduate will receive 12 guest tickets

Senior Send Off

The celebration will immediately follow the ceremony on the School of Dentistry Front Lawn

Continental breakfast foods will be served 

All graduates and guests are welcome

Military Commissioning

Will began at 12:30 pm in the School of Dentistry, Room G307

Please join us in celebrating our graduates entering military service

No tickets required to attend

Academic Attire

All students and faculty participating in Honors Convocation are required to wear academic regalia.
