The Honors Convocation is the recognition of degree completion. During the ceremony, degree candidates walk across the stage and receive their doctoral hoods (DDS) or pins (BSDH). The graduating DDS class selects two members of the faculty to hood the graduates. Students may also pre-select individual doctoral hooders/pinners (one or two). Specific requirements for doctoral hooders/pinners will be described to the graduates. Photographs of the graduates are taken with the Dean.
Every degree candidate will receive twelve tickets to Honors Convocation. Tickets are required for every attendee, regardless of age. Tickets will be available for pick up by degree candidates beginning April 24th. More details about ticket pick up will be available soon.
Accessible seating is limited at the venue. Guests need to contact Helen Dagilis at (e-mail) email@example.com or (phone) 410-706-0258, as soon as possible to inquire about accessible seating.
Immediately following the UMSOD Honors Convocation, graduates are invited to join family, friends, classmates, faculty, and staff for a senior send off, with light refreshments on the front lawn of the UMSOD.
