Speaker Biography

David McMillan, DDS, FAGD was a dean’s scholarship recipient at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and graduated in 2004.  He practiced in Layton, Utah for 13 years.

He served as the Utah Academy of General Dentistry president from 2013-14.  He is an associate professor at Roseman University where he has taught local anesthesia for six years. He practices part-time in Salt Lake City, Utah. In his spare time, he likes to travel with his family including his wife and three daughters.

Course Description

Review, clarify, and enhance techniques for the Posterior Superior Alveolar (PSA), Middle Superior Alveolar (MSA), Anterior Superior Alveolar (ASA), Greater Palatine (GP), Nasopalatine (NP), Anterior Middle Superior Alveolar (AMSA), Inferior Alveolar (IA) nerve blocks. 

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

Describe the insertion site, depth, target, and areas anesthetized for the following nerve blocks: 

  • Posterior Superior Alveolar (PSA)
  • Middle Superior Alveolar (MSA)
  • Anterior Superior Alveolar (ASA)
  • Greater Palatine (GP)
  • Nasopalatine (NP)
  • Anterior Middle Superior Alveolar (AMSA)
  • Inferior Alveolar (IA)
