The Honors Convocation is the recognition of degree completion.

During the ceremony, degree candidates walk across the stage and receive their doctoral hoods (DDS) or pins (BSDH). Two members of the faculty are selected by each class to hood or pin the graduates. Degree candidates may also pre-select up to two individual doctoral hooders/pinners that are not faculty. Specific requirements for doctoral hooders/pinners will be provided to the graduates.

Every graduate will receive 12 guest tickets. Tickets are required for all guests regardless of age. Seating is open.

Accessible seating is limited at the venue. Guests need to contact Helen Dagilis at hdagilis@umaryland.edu or 410-706-0258 to inquire about accessible seating.

Regalia

All graduates participating in the Honors Convocation Ceremony must wear approved academic regalia.  Academic regalia consists of a gown, cap or tam, tassel, and hood or stole.

Deadline to order:  Wednesday, April 1. 
You have the option to ship your regalia to your residence for a fee or ship to the Campus Store for free.

Regalia cannot be rented, but it may be borrowed from previous graduates. Please inspect your regalia upon arrival to confirm that all items are included and correct.
