Speaker Biography

Christine O’Hea, DMD MDSDr. Christine O’Hea is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthodontics at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She earned her DMD at the University of Pennsylvania (1996) and her certificate in Orthodontics/Masters in Dental Science from the University of Connecticut (1999). Prior to joining Columbia in 2019, she was in private practice in New Jersey for 20 years. She has been treating patients with aligner therapy for over 20 years and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Course Description

This course will provide dental clinicians an overview of aligner therapy with specific focus on common problems that occur with aligner therapy including biomechanics, case selection and techniques to reduce common pitfalls.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Understand proper case selection for aligner therapy
  • Describe reliable movements that can be achieved with aligner therapy
  • Understand common problems that occur with aligners and techniques to reduce them.
