Did you know that as a UMSOD alumnus/alumna, you have access to Oral Pathology Consultants in the oral and maxillofacial pathology services?

Since the 1940s, Oral Pathology Consultants has been the oral and maxillofacial pathology service at the UMSOD. We encourage dentists to submit any tissues removed from a patient for microscopic analysis because each year, among the thousands of biopsies received, there are always a few “surprises” – mundane or benign-looking lesions that turn out to be something much more serious.

In the new “Oral Pathology Case of the Month” series, we will present examples of lesions to illustrate how a biopsy procedure is a relatively quick and inexpensive way to avoid future complications.
