Qoot Alkhubaizi, BSc, BChD, MFD RCS (Ireland), MS

Dr. Alkhubaizi is a Clinical Associate professor and a Program Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry at University of Maryland, School of Dentistry. She received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD) from the University of Leeds, School of Dentistry, United Kingdom in 2004, Diploma from Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MFD RCS Irel) in 2006, a 24-months certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, University of Maryland, School of Dentistry in 2010 and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Research in 2012 from the University of Maryland, Graduate School.  She is an associate member of the Graduate School at the University of Maryland and a Diplomate of the American board of General Dentistry.  

 Dr. Alkhubaizi is a University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Dentistry Faculty Senator, and through this role she was elected as a Vice President of the Faculty Senate, represented faculty on the President’s Diversity Advisory Council and contributed to various committee work to advance the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) on campus and school level. Since 2020, she continues to serve as an Advanced Education in General Dentistry site visitor for the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). In 2023, she was appointed as the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Women Liaison officer for the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry. Her diverse global education and work experience allowed her to engage on a campus- and school-level globalization initiatives. She has a strong leadership track in clinical administration, accreditation, and outcome assessment.  

Dr. Alkhubaizi provides clinical and didactic student education and maintains active practice through Faculty Practice. Her main research areas are in dental epidemiology, dental materials, risk management and dental education.
