Evidence-based Dentistry
Developed by the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD), the Maryland Practice-based Research Network in Dentistry (MPResD) offers dentists, hygienists, and other oral health partners the opportunity to collaborate with dental faculty to address important patient care issues. By harnessing observations and clinical experiences drawn from real-world clinical practice, the research network will advance knowledge and improve the effectiveness of dental care.
Directed by Thomas Oates, DMD, PhD, chair of the UMSOD Department of Advanced Oral Sciences & Therapeutics, MPResD is committed to leading the drive to improve oral health in Maryland by:
- Researching practitioner-driven questions or topics aimed at enhancing dental care
- Facilitating the transfer of scientific advances into dental practices
- Improving how practitioners meet patients’ needs
