The University of Maryland School of Dentistry is committed to improving oral health and strengthening communities through service, education, and collaboration. From community outreach programs across Maryland to global partnerships that advance oral health education and care, UMSOD faculty, students, residents, and staff work together to make a meaningful impact. These experiences not only improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve, but also prepare future oral health professionals to lead with compassion, cultural awareness, and a commitment to service.

How We Connect

  • Community Partnerships

    The University of Maryland School of Dentistry collaborates with community organizations, healthcare providers, government agencies, and educational institutions to address oral health needs and advance health equity throughout Maryland.

  • Student-Led Outreach

    Service is an integral part of the student experience at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. With approximately 40 student organizations, UMSOD students lead and participate in a wide range of outreach initiatives throughout Maryland.

  • Global Learning Opportunities

    Global learning experiences and international partnerships provide UMSOD students and faculty with opportunities to engage in service, education, and collaboration beyond the United States to develop an a broader perspective on oral health needs and healthcare delivery.

  • Global Partnerships

    The University of Maryland School of Dentistry partners with Operation Smile and the University of Rwanda to advance oral health through education, clinical service, and workforce development to expand access to essential dental care.
