Student Service

Student and Instructor during CURE Scholars outreach eventService is an integral part of the student experience at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. With approximately 40 student organizations, UMSOD students lead and participate in a wide range of outreach initiatives that promote oral health, support underserved populations, and strengthen communities throughout Maryland.

Through health fairs, oral health education programs, screenings, preventive care initiatives, and service projects, students apply their knowledge and skills in real-world settings while developing leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to service. Students engage with communities in a variety of settings, including schools, churches, community centers, senior living communities, health fairs, and other community-based organizations throughout the state.

Each year, UMSOD students serve hundreds of individuals through community outreach, education, and service initiatives, reflecting the school's commitment to improving oral health and strengthening communities across Maryland.
