The mission of the Department of Biomaterials and Regenerative Dental Medicine is advancing oral health and improving lives by research, teaching and services. Our research focuses on regenerative dental medicine via stem cells, scaffolds, nanotechnology and bioactive agents, as well as developing bioactive, therapeutic dental restorative and preventive materials for tooth restorations. In addition, the Department of Biomaterials and Regenerative Dental Medicine directs five courses for DDS students, PhD students, and residents. Furthermore, the department trains the next generation of researchers, clinicians and educators to grow and become professors in dental schools and national and international leaders in their fields.
