Dr. Harry W.F. Dressel Jr. Memorial Lecture

Perspectives on the current dental landscape, the future of the profession and ethical concerns
by George Shepley, DDS
We are seeing changes in the dental landscape at an ever-increasing rate. Changes in consumerism, new digital technologies, AI, workforce shortages, decreasing dental benefits, increasing overhead and inflation, disruption and new practice modalities, and diversity among the patients and providers are all contributing to these changes. There are ethical questions in regard to private equity entering the practice of dentistry, overtreatment, and how to provide dental care to those in need in a sustainable model.
  • The participants will gain an understanding of the current dental landscape.
  • The participants will learn the challenges that face the future of the profession.
  • The participants will gain insight into some of the professional and ethical considerations as we move into the future.
