The Greater Baltimore HIV Health Services Planning Council recently recognized dentists Dr. Valli Meeks and Dr. Larry Bank for their “outstanding efforts in the Baltimore HIV community” and their continued service to people living with HIV/AIDS in the greater Baltimore and throughout Maryland.

Dr. Meeks, director of the PLUS Clinic at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, and Dr. Bank, a dentist in private practice, each received the Heroes Among Us award, which was presented by Dale Brewer, president of the Greater Baltimore HIV Health Services Planning Council.

Also joining the congratulatory festivities as the organization’s activities for 2015 drew to a close were state Senator Catherine Pugh, a candidate for mayor of Baltimore, PLUS Clinic Consumer Advisory Board member Carlton Smith and JACQUES Initiative outreach worker Kithia Gray.
