Does this sign look familiar?

The sign at the right stands outside the West China School of Stomatology, part of Sichuan University in Chengdu, China. The first dental school in China, it was established in 1917 by a Canadian missionary. Eung-Kwon Pae, DDS, MSc, PhD, chair of the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, recently visited the school to share ideas and see the facility firsthand.

He was impressed by the school’s heavy investment in research equipment, and the dedication of its students and faculty. “Our students and faculty have much we can learn from each other,” says Pae. “I’m looking forward to continued opportunities for research collaboration.”
