About the Perryville Clinic
The University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Perryville, is a state-of-the-art teaching facility that opened in 2009. The University of Maryland School of Dentistry and Union Hospital formed a partnership to offer oral health care serivces to the Cecil County community with minimal, and in some cases without any expense to patients.
UMSOD Perryville treated or examined 3,823 patients in fiscal year 2014. Approximately 40 percent of patients presented with urgent care needs.
The UMSOD Perryville location provides care to four main patient populations as delineated by the UMSOD Perryville Community Advisory Board. This board oversees community partnership activities and is comprised of local representatives from groups such as the Cecil and Harford County Health Departments, Union Hospital, Cecil County Public Schools and Cecil College, as well as representatives from the local dental community.
UMSOD Perryville utilizes a 26-chair dental facility to provide a community service and a valuable learning experience for pre-doctoral and hygiene students and post-graduate residents.
