ImmunoEM _Principles & Practice Minicourse

Location: University of Maryland Baltimore, Electron Microscopy Core Imaging Facility (EMCIF)
Instructor and Demonstrator: : EMCIF Director (Dr. Ru-ching Hsia) and staff
Scope of aims: To promote the knowledge and skills of immunoEM Techniques.
Targeted participants: Individuals who wish to learn immuno Electron Microscopy principles and techniques. The course will perform both post-embedding and pre-embedding immuno labeling techniques manully and also using a robotic platform recently installed in EMCIF. Participants are encouraged to bring their own immunoEM projects. Contact EMCIF to discuss your project prior to the start of the course.
Format: Lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice
Techniques covered: ImmunoEM sample preparation, ImmunoEM-Principles, experimental design and workflow
Instrumentation: High pressure freezer (Leica-Microsystem), mPrep ASP-1000 automated specimen processor (Microscopy Innovations)
