Emily Chaffer earned her B.S. in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Microbiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. After completing her undergraduate studies, she gained hands-on experience in dentistry as a dental assistant. That role deepened her passion for preventive care and public health and inspired her to pursue a career in dental hygiene. She went on to earn both a B.S. and an M.S. in Dental Hygiene from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and became a Registered Dental Hygienist in Maryland.
Ms. Chaffer currently serves as a Clinical Instructor. She is passionate about mentoring future dental hygienists and reducing oral health disparities. Her academic interests focus on maternal, infant, and child oral health, and she is eager to continue expanding her impact through clinical practice, education, and research.
