Dr. Anne L. Koch received both her DMD and Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also the founder and past Director of the Postdoctoral Program in Endodontics and Microsurgery at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Following her clinical and academic career, Annie formed her own successful technology and development company, Real World Endo, of which she was CEO and President.
Dr. Koch maintains adjunct faculty positions at PENN and Harvard and is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the University of Pennsylvania, as well as serving as a Board member for the “Center for Innovation and Precision Dentistry.” The author of more than 150 articles, Annie continues to lecture extensively on both endodontic technique and cultural competency issues.
This presentation is geared principally toward the recent dental graduate who feels somewhat intimidated by endodontics. Most undergraduate dentals schools have such busy curriculums that minimal time is devoted to clinical endodontics. Consequently, this session will be dedicated to such issues as practical diagnosis, when to refer, how to achieve profound anesthesia, minimization of iatrogenic errors, various instrumentation techniques and obturation options.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will:
- Recognize the challenges of performing endodontic therapy.
- Understand how to get patients profoundly numb.
- Have a better sense of endodontic instrumentation and metallurgy.
- Fully comprehend hydraulic condensation with bioceramics
- Understand when to refer and how to use the Case Difficulty Assessment Form
