Immediate Past President Mary Ziomek, DDS '85

Dr. Mary ZiomekDr. Ziomek received a bachelor's degree in biology from Loyola College in 1976. She earned a B.S. degree in pharmacy in 1979 from University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She earned her DDS from University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1985 and then went on to complete a two-year general practice residency at Bowman Gray School of Medicine/Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1987. She is currently in private practice in North Bethesda, Md.

Dr. Ziomek is a past president of Southern Maryland Dental Society.  She served as a trustee of Maryland State Dental Association board.  She is currently the vice president of the board of directors of Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped and is chairperson of their annual charity silent auction. Dr. Ziomek also served as MSDA delegate to the American Dental Association. She is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and past chairperson of the metro section. She was awarded mastership status in the Academy of General Dentists and has been active on the boards of many dental organizations, currently serving on the executive board of the Southern Maryland Dental Society.

In her spare time, Dr. Z. enjoys travel, cooking, gardening and spending time at the beach with her husband, friends and family.
