- Dell Laptop Battery Concerns
In regards to the laptop battery recall that's been in the news, the laptops that you have purchased fall into the time frame of possibly being affected. Dell has up on their website directions in regards to how to find out if your battery could be a problem. I've included the link below on how to check, otherwise if you want to stop down to the learning center one of us can check it for you too.
- Touch Pad and Eraser Tip Mouse Issues
Some of you expressed issues with your touch pad or eraser tip on your laptops. If you grab the drivers for this device from Dell's web site by going to http://support.dell.com and either enter your service tag which is on the bottom on the laptop or on the right select Latitude and then D620. Select Windows XP and then click Find Downloads. Select Input Device Drivers and then click Alps GlidePoint/StickPointer. Then select Download Now. Once the file is downloaded, just run the file and it'll install the drivers. You can then modify your mouse settings by going to
Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Mouse.
- Alternatively you can download the drivers from the direct link below:

- Printers For Student Use
We've setup a location for printing for the students. The location is http://dentalprint01/printers. While at the school and attached to our wireless network if you click on one of the printers in the list that's mentioned as Student Use you get an option on the left to Connect. This will allow you to use that printer at the Dental School.
- A few students have been receiving their laptops without the correct software:
If you've received your laptop and it doesn't have Microsoft Office and/or Norton Antivirus, please contact the IT department at 410-706-2084 to schedule an appointment to pick up a DVD that'll contain the software. We can also setup the laptop for you here in our office if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.
