The "Endodontic Board Review and Scientific Update" course provides advanced level education in the basic and clinical sciences related to Endodontics. It also provides effective strategies for challenging the examinations of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE). It is suitable for candidates pursuing board certification by the ABE, endodontic residents and faculty, and endodontists who want to base their specialty practices on the latest advances in the biological sciences.
Objectives
At the completion of this course endodontists and endodontic residents should be able to:
Manage competently patients with medically complex conditions who require alteration of treatment.
Synthesize strategies for pain control and treatment of endodontic infections based on the highest levels of clinical and scientific evidence.
Develop a differential diagnosis of lesions of non-endodontic origin located in the jaws.
Integrate knowledge of the anatomical, microbiological and host regulatory and defense factors operant in the development, control and elimination of infections of endodontic origin.
Discuss pulp and periradicular biology.
Select effective methods and relevant resources for preparing for the examinations of the American Board of Endodontics
