We are pleased to welcome Dr. Carroll-Ann Trotman, Associate Dean for the Office of Academic Affairs. Dr. Trotman has assumed theposition formerly held by Dr. Ward Massey, who is becoming the dean of a new dental school in New South Wales, Australia. Dr. Trotman comes to us from the University of North Carolina, School of Dentistry, where she was a professor with tenure and assistant dean for graduate education and academic development.
Her education includes a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, a Certificate in Orthodontics, a Master’s in Oral Biology, and a Master’s in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis. She brings unique, important skills to her new position; namely, international affairs, graduate policy, conflict resolution, faculty retention, diversity, and health sciences. In addition to redesign and management of the curriculum, Dr. Trotman will be responsible for administering a faculty development plan and a structured system to expose our pre-doctoral students to research. Also, Dr. Trotman will maintain an active research laboratory and work with the Department of Orthodontics.
