Chulalongkorn University, founded in 1917, is the oldest university established under the modern Thai education system. The Faculty of Dentistry, established in 1940, provides training in a wide range of dental specialties and houses research centers devoted to dental materials science and oral biology. Through this externship, students will learn about Asian cultures while studying dentistry in a high-tech environment that differs from U.S. dental school. The university, which enrolls more than 36,000 students, occupies a vast section of downtown Bangkok. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is known for its ancient temples and elaborate canal system.
