Alumni Reception Brings Friends, Classmates Together

More than 100 alumni attended a special University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) reception at the American Dental Association Annual Session in New Orleans. The reception, held on Thursday, Oct. 31, offered alumni an opportunity to catch up with old friends and learn about the new and exciting things happening at their alma mater.

Dr. Felder"I have such great memories from when I was a student at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. I really enjoy seeing my classmates at receptions like this. It makes me very nostalgic for the days we spent in dental school together," remarks Bruce Felder, DDS '74, of Pensacola, Fla.

Dr. Gowda"I think it is important to stay connected to the School of Dentistry because it is the basis of what we have become. The school helped train us and enabled us to have a career. I am absolutely proud to be an alumna of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry," says Vanitha Gowda, DDS '95, of Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Lupien "I have really enjoyed the chance to see my classmates at this reception. When I was in dental school, I formed a strong bond with my peers and I think that bond carries through the years. It is so great to be able to reconnect," says Roland Lupien, DDS '86, of Pomfret, Conn.

Dr. Salcetti"For me, the camaraderie I have with my friends and colleagues really re-ignites my energy for practicing dentistry. A lot of the friends I made in dental school I consider to be my family. It is really special to see them again," states Jeanne Salcetti, DDS '91, of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Dr. Fiastro"Being here tonight with all my friends and classmates is like coming home again. Four of the most memorable years of my life were spent at my alma mater. It is nice to relive some of those times that we spent together," says John Fiastro, DDS '77, of Lutherville, Md.
