UMSOD Hosts Kleiman Lecture

On Thursday, May 31, the University of Maryland School of Dentistry hosted The Stephen E. and Jeffrey A. Kleiman Lecture. Fifty faculty members, students, alumni and Kleiman family members attended the program. Keith Progebin, DDS '87, presented a continuing education lecture entitled "New Technologies in Esthetic Integration."

The lecture is an annual program that is hosted on alternate years by the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and School of Medicine. This year, the lecture had special meaning due to the passing of Stephen E. Kleiman, DDS '76, on February 20, 2012.

The Stephen E. and Jeffrey A. Kleiman Lecture in Dentistry and Medicine was created in September, 1979, by Dr. Bernard S. Kleiman, who graduated from the School of Medicine in 1939. He established a fund through the School of Medicine in recognition of his sons and their chosen health care professions. The fund supports an annual lecture on a timely topic in dentistry or medicine.
