To change your login password The following are instructions for Windows 2000 and Windows XP computers only. If you are still using Windows 98, other home editions, or if you are a Mac user, please contact our helpdesk at 6-2084 to have an IT staff dispatch to help you change the password. - When your password expires, your computer (windows) will say that your password has expired and that it needs to be changed.
- Please enter a new valid password and confirm that by re-typing at the Confirm New Password field.
- If you do not log out of your computer the night before the password expired then you must restart your computer the next day if you are to access email or the network. Your email or access to the network will not work if you haven’t changed your password.
- If you are out of the office and have not changed your password when it expired you will not be able to access email via Web Mail. You cannot gain access via Web mail unless your password has been changed on your PC at work.
- If you will not be in the office when your password expires, please contact the Help desk to get your account setup to have the password change when you get back in your office.
- If you wish to change your password before it is expired, you can change it while you are already logged-in to the system by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del buttons at the same time. You will see a screen with a change password button at the lower left hand corner. Click on the change password button to see the password change screen.
