Dr. Howard Strassler presented the inaugural Dean's Faculty Study Club Presentation on Monday, September 13, 2004. The presentation was entitled "Restorative Problem Solving with Adhesive Bonding". On Wednesday, December 1, 2004, Dr. Sylvan Feldman presented "Enhancing Esthetics Through Combined Surgical and Restorative Procedures". On March 22, 2005, Dr. Harold Crossley presented "The Top Fifty Most Prescribed Drugs for 2005". On June 21, 2005, Dean Christian Stohler presented, "TMJ Diseases - The New Game in Town". Edward Grace and William Davidson presented "Dentistry and Sleep Disorders". On Tuesday, March 21, 2006 Dr. Warren Morganstein presented "Acupuncture for Oral and Craniofacial Pain and Disorders". On Tuesday, June 13, 2006, Mr. Allen Schiff presented, "Fraud in Dentistry". On Thursday, September 21, 2006, Dr. Arnold Sindler presented, "The Dental Operating Microscope". On Monday, December 11, 2006, Dr. Jerome Buxbaum presented, "The Several Faces of Pain". Dr. Julius Hyatt presented "What To Do When You Can't Get Local Anesthesia" on May 2, 2007. Dr. Hashir Bashirelahi presented, "Nutrition and Neutraceuticals on Tuesday, June 5, 2007. On Monday, September 24, 2007, Dr. Bernard Levy presented, "Forensic Odontology". On Tuesday, December 18, 2007 Dr. Carl Driscoll presented, "Dentistry's Forgotten Patients - the Maxillofacial Prosthetic Patient". Dr. Norman Tinanoff presented "New Paradigm to the Diagnosis, Prevention and Treatment of Dental Caries" on Monday, March 3, 2008. These presentations which were presented at the Dental School following a light dinner were well attended and well received by Dean's Faculty Members. These study club presentations will continue to be presented every three months throughout the year. Continuing Education credits are provided for these study club presentations. These Study Club presentations are provided by the Dental School, at no charge to Dean's Faculty members, in recognition of their important contributions to the Dental School.
The next study club presentation for the academic year 2007-2008 will be presented by Mr. Paul Starr, PharmD, Certified Specialist in Poison Information at the University of Maryland Poison Center on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, entitled "Using the Concepts of Hypnosis in the Dental Practice".
