Speaker Biography:

Dr. BartnerDr. Bartner received his DDS from the Fairleigh Dickenson School of Dentisty. He currently is an assistant professor in the Department of Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at the Uninversity of Maryland School of Dentistry. Bartner is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Sports Dentistry, American Academy of Implantology and New Jersy Academy of Dental Practice Administration. He has lectured in the U.S. and Europe on a number of topics, including implantology, TMJ dysfunction and dental office design. Bartner currently maintains a private practice in Closter, N.J.pp

Course Description:

The following topics will be discussed: how to have communicative treatment conferences leading to patient acceptance of comprehensive dentistry; the role of staff, Pankey’s 22 questions, patient fears, the doctor’s self image and the four emotional appeals in putting magic into the clinical examination; building and maintaining staff for appointment book control and management of the professional telephone.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to understand the following concepts:

  • How to get patients to say “yes” to comprehensive dentistry
  • Fees-fees-fees: the value of divorcing fees from treatment
  • How to embrace the concept of “one visit dentistry” and pain control
  • How to hire, fire and have effective staff meetings and the establishment of office policy
  • The top 10 practice management mistakes and the top 10 financial mistakes by dentists
  • Development of a more effective staff

  • Letter system development
  • The documented case presentation
  • Requirements for the acceptance of treatment
