Dr. Lomke has been in private practice as a general dentist in Montgomery County, Md., for more than 33 years. He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1979. Dr. Lomke is an Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) recognized course provider as well as a clinical trainer in Diode, Nd:YAG, Erbium and CO2 laser wavelengths. A member of the ALD board of directors, Dr. Lomke is also chair of the ALD education committee and chair of the honors review committee. He was awarded ALD Mastership in 2008. In addition, Dr. Lomke serves on the American Dental Association (ADA) committee on dental laser devices. A prolific lecturer, Dr. Lomke has given presentations on laser dentistry to other dental professionals from around the United States as well as to international audiences. He is currently a member of the Dean's Faculty at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.p
This exciting and informative continuing education course combines lecture with video clips of laser procedures as well as hands-on training using laser devices. Dr. Lomke, an Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) recognized course provider, will offer individual hands-on technique training, using laser devices on porcine specimens and extracted human teeth.
Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:
- Understand basic dental laser functions and laser physics
- Appreciate laser tissue interactions
- View clinical cases (slides/videos) using the different laser wavelengths available to the dentist and dental hygienist
