My research is focused on understanding the neural control of movement with a particular emphasis on sensory-motor integration in the trigeminal system. Recently I have concentrated on the role of jaw-muscle spindles and tooth mechanoreceptors in modulating jaw movement in the normal and diseased state. Current and future studies will combine neurophysiological and neuroanatomical techniques to determine the role of trigeminal sensory feedback in the generation and control of jaw movement, muscle spasticity and muscle pain.
