GPLS 635 Bacterial Genetics - Course Director, Diana Oram, PhD Covers induction, expression, and selection of mutants; molecular basis of mutations; transfer of genetic information by transformation, transduction, and conjugation; complementation and recombination in phage and bacteria; plasmids; and recombinant DNA. Offered first semester, alternate years. Two lectures and two laboratory periods per week deal with the genetics of bacteria and bacterial viruses. Offered in the Fall semester. | ![]() |
