| The University of Maryland is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Programs in dental education; dental hygiene education; the advanced dental education programs in endodontics, oral and maxillofacial pathology, and oral maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, dentofacial orthopedics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and prosthodontics; the general practice residency program (12 months) and the advanced education program in general dentistry program (12 and 24 months) are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and have been granted the accredited status of approval.
