100 Block South Martin Luther King Blvd.
On 18 September 2014, at approximately 9:35 A.M. a student was crossing Pratt Street at Martin Luther King Blvd. While crossing, a vehicle making a left hand turn from Pratt onto MLK failed to yield the right of way to the student. The student exchanged words with the driver. The driver of the vehicle stopped exited her vehicle and struck the student several times about the face. A passenger in the vehicle moved over to the driverýs side and fled north on MLK. The suspect continued to follow the student north on MLK. While the student was attempting to call 911 from her cell phone the suspect attempted to snatch the phone from her hand. The suspect did not get the phone. The suspect then fled north on Penn Street. The student sustained minor injuries.
The suspect is described as a black female , 5'11 approximately 30 years of age, medium complexion, ponytail, wearing a blue shirt. Suspect was driving a black vehicle , no further description.
Obey all traffic devices when crossing the street
Do not confront motorists or other person(s)in potentially dangerous situations
Report aggressvie drivers to the University and local law enforcement

University police report that a student was assaulted this morning (Thursday 9/18) in the 100 block of North MLK Boulevard. They advise caution if walking in that area. More information is expected to be available later today.
