Dentistry Today is a program designed for college students in their first, second, or third year of college who are considering dentistry as a career. The program allows participants to learn about the dental profession, dental education, dental specialties and the wide range of career options available within dentistry. Topics include esthetic dentistry, geriatric dentistry, periodontics, implantology, orthodontics, forensic dentistry, anatomy and research. This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about the profession and the many career options available in the field of dentistry. Participants receive a tour of the dental school clinics and have an opportunity to observe dental students treating patients. Dentistry Today 2009 was held on June 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The daily schedule was from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. There was a $25 administrative fee for the program and participants were responsible for their food, transportation, parking and lodging expenses.
