Dentistry Today, 2012 is a program designed for college students in their first, second, or third year who are considering dentistry as a career. The program allows participants to learn about the dental profession, dental education, dental specialties and the wide range of career options available within dentistry. Topics include esthetic dentistry, geriatric dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics and dental research.  Registration for this year’s program is currently closed.

This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about the profession and the many career options available in the field of dentistry.  Participants will receive a tour of the school of dentistry and UM campus, and have an opportunity to interact with dental students in the clinical environment.

This year, Dentistry Today will be held June 12 - 14, 2012.  The daily schedule will be from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. All participants will be responsible for their food, transportation, parking and lodging expenses.

A waitlist has been established for those persons that completed their application in full, but whose applications were received after the deadline.  If there is space people will be notified.  For those persons accepted, please refer to your confirmation email to verify the start time, parking garages, and any additional information concerning the program.  If there are additional questions, please send an e-mail to ddsadmissions@umaryland.edu and place Dentistry Today in the subject line.  This way your email can be triaged and answered by the appropriate staff member.
