As part of an urban medical center campus, the Dental School attracts a large and diverse patient population. Students have the opportunity to acquire a full range of clinical experiences, both within the Dental School and the community, including treatment of emergency, medically compromised, and physically and mentally challenged patients. Through partnerships with local, state, federal and international agencies and institutions, BCDS faculty serve as a significant resource impacting on theoretical, clinical and technological developments in oral health care. These cooperative efforts enable students to gain valuable, additional experiences while providing dental services for worldwide special needs populations.
