The Electron Microscopy Core Facility is located on the 9th floor of the new Dental School building. - For UMB users, go through the glass door at the Baltimore Street level entrance, turn right, follow the hallway, pass through another security door on your left and take the elevator to the 9th floor. Turn right at the 9th floor atrium, pass a double glass door and take the corridor all the way to the end. You can ring the bell by the door to alert stafff to let you enter the Facility.
- For visitors without a UMB ID, please stop by the Security desk and call the Facility or ask the security guard to call 6-7992. A staff member will come down to lead you to the Facility.
- It is always a good idea to call ahead and inform Facility staff of your approximate arrival time.
- University of Maryland Dental School is conveniently located in downtown Baltimore, six blocks west of Inner Harbor. Please refer to the UMB campus map for the exact location of the Dental School.
- The University of Maryland, Baltimore campus can be easily accessed by train, light rail subway or buses.
- Train: The Camden Line of the MARC train service runs from Camde Station at Camden Yards to Union Station in Washington D.C. Camden station is within walking distance (6 or 7 blocks). However, it is a small station and has a limited number of trains only during commuter hour. The Penn Line runs from Penn Station in Baltimore to Union Station in Washington D.C. However, Penn station is much further from the University. The best way to reach the UMB campus from Penn station is by taxi or light rail. Fare for MARC is $7 for one-way. More information...
- Light rail: Baltimore has light rail service ($3.20 for a day pass) that connects park-and-ride locations from northen Baltimore County to Glen Burnie and includes spur lines to Penn Station and BWI Airport. the University Center stop is 2 blocks east of campus between Baltimore and Lombard streets.
