Electron Microscopy Core Facility is now supported by both the Medical School and the Dental School. We endeavor to bring the state-of-the-art EM techniques to the campus. We welcome new ideas and challenges. Please contact us if you have any question related to electron microscopy. Dr. Ru-ching Hsia, Director Dr. Hsia holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Stanford University. She has conducted research related to microbial pathogenesis for over fifteen years. Dr. Hsia joined the Department of Biomedical Sciences in July 2005. She is currently collaborating on several EM-related research projects and is interested in opening new collaboration on structural biology related subjects. |
| Dr. James E. Goolsby, Post-doc | | Mr. John Strong, Senior EM technician Mr. Strong has more than 20 years experience in electron microscopy related research. He is currently working part time in the EM Core Facility. When he is not working in the EM Facility, Mr. Strong is also in charge of the Confocal Microscope Core Facility. | |
EM facility welcomes summer students or any student who is intersted in performng short term EM related research. Many EM-porjects such as immungold labeling, cryo-SEM, 3-D analysis of cellular structures are currently conducted in the EM Core Facility. | |
