Highlights





The Core Imaging Facility (CIF) is located at the 9th floor of the School of Dentistry, room 9405, 650 West Baltimore Street. The facility manages both the Electron Microscopy Core Facility (EMCF) and the Dental School Confocal Facility (DSCF) on a fee-for-service basis. The facility provides research oriented EM and fluorescent imaging services to all faculty and staff of the University of Maryland campus and the academic and industrial community in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore areas. The EMCF is jointly sponsored by the School of Dentistry and the School of Medicine and overseen by a steering committee consisting of faculty members from both schools.
The services available include:
- TEM and SEM related research projects
- Electron microscopes and confocal microscopes for trained users
- Supporting equipment usage
- Education, consultation and training
- Advanced microscopy, such as cryoEM, immunoEM and 3D EM for pilot studies
All services are designed to fit your research requirement.
All services are available to anyone, academic or private users, with an interest in electron microscopy.
